A junior HR in a medical college or hospital is responsible for supporting senior HR staff in various human resource functions, focusing on recruitment, onboarding, records maintenance, employee engagement, and compliance. Main Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment activities, including posting job vacancies, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.

  • Support the onboarding process for new hires—including documentation, orientation, and initial training.

  • Maintain accurate employee records and help manage HR databases and filing systems.

  • Assist in payroll and benefits processing (collecting attendance, leave records, supporting payroll staff).

  • Respond to basic employee queries regarding HR policies, leave, attendance, or documentation, escalating complex issues to senior HR.

  • Help organize employee engagement events, training sessions, and welfare initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital or college HR policies, labor laws, and accreditation requirements; assist with documentation for audits and regulatory purposes.

  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives as assigned by senior HR, gaining practical exposure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is typically required.

  • Internship or prior exposure to healthcare HR is beneficial but not mandatory for a fresher role.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic HR software is preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, organizational skills, and a willingness to learn are essential.
