Job Purpose: Lead - Forecasting & Scheduling is responsible for ensuring the development and optimization of advanced forecasting models and scheduling strategies to enhance energy production efficiency. This role integrates forecasting systems, monitors performance, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support effective energy operations.

Strategic Scheduling Optimization:

Develop and manage optimized scheduling strategies to ensure efficient operation of renewable energy assets & implement advanced scheduling algorithms and tools that align energy production with demand forecasts while considering grid stability and operational constraints.

Adjust schedules dynamically based on real-time data and forecast updates to minimize operational disruptions and maximize resource utilization.

Process automation related to forecasting, scheduling, and monitoring:

Design and implement processes that helps to monitor each site performance effectively and automate the manual and time-consuming tasks to minimize human error and effort. Actively engaging with F&S team for any process related queries and automate the same wherever needed.

Continuously exploring the new technologies/ market conditions and adopt the best practices for accuracy improvements

Integration of Forecasting Systems:

Oversee the integration of forecasting systems with energy management platforms to streamline data flow and enhance forecasting accuracy & ensure seamless connectivity between forecasting tools, scheduling systems, and operational databases, facilitating real-time updates and analytics.

Customize integration processes to address specific needs of renewable energy operations and improve overall system performance.

Performance Monitoring and Adjustment:

Monitor the performance of forecasting models and scheduling systems to identify and address discrepancies between forecasted and actual data & conduct in-depth analysis to understand the root causes of deviations and implement corrective measures to improve forecasting accuracy.

Regularly review system performance metrics and make necessary adjustments to optimize operational efficiency and decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration for Forecasting:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including grid operators, asset managers, and data scientists, to ensure the effective implementation of forecasting and scheduling strategies & share insights and data to align forecasting models with operational requirements and grid stability needs.

Address any issues related to forecasting accuracy and scheduling conflicts promptly to support smooth energy operations.

Real-Time Monitoring and Issue Resolution:

Keep a check on real-time data related to energy production and demand, identifying any deviations from forecasts and addressing issues as they arise & use monitoring tools to track performance and ensure that energy schedules are adhered to.

Provide immediate feedback and implement corrective actions to maintain operational efficiency and minimize disruptions.

Schedule Coordination and Implementation:

Assist in coordinating and implementing energy schedules based on forecast data and operational requirements & utilize scheduling tools to ensure that energy production aligns with demand forecasts, making adjustments to schedules as needed to address changes in conditions or forecast updates.

Ensure accurate and timely updates to schedules to maintain operational efficiency.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field is preferred.

Strong academic foundation in power system analysis, forecasting techniques, and optimization methods. Proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and programming languages.

Work Experience:

13+ years of experience in power system operations, with a focus on forecasting and scheduling.

Proven track record in developing and implementing forecasting models, optimizing power generation and dispatch, and managing grid constraints. In-depth knowledge of power markets, grid codes, and regulatory frameworks.
