About the Role:

Infogain is seeking an experienced Optical Network Deployment Engineer to join our Network Infrastructure Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale backbone network capacity deployments across IP and optical layers. The role involves hands-on network deployment, commissioning, migration, and capacity upgrade activities within data centers and PoP sites.

We are looking for a proactive professional with a strong foundation in DWDM, routing/switching, and optical technologies (Ciena/Infinera), who can thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, build, and test new DWDM line systems including calibration, verification, and BERT testing.
  • Deploy and commission optical devices such as Ciena and Infinera in new PoPs and data center builds.
  • Perform device installation, software upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning tasks.
  • Support network optimization (re-stripes, migrations, capacity upgrades, swaps).
  • Create Bill of Materials (BoM) and Job Start Notifications (JSN) for deployments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop documentation and production workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze network issues; identify and resolve root causes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure continuous process improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Ciena 6500 systems (mandatory).
  • Knowledge of DWDM components ROADM, Mux/Demux, amplifiers, transponders, and channel optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with optical device migrations in data centers or PoPs.
  • Ciena and/or Infinera certifications highly desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
  • Familiarity with Chassis and line card installations, structured fiber cabling, and optical testing tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • CCNA / JNCIA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments with attention to detail.
