Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura's businesses around the world. Powai' s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura's global operations and are an integral part of Nomura's global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura's global business.

Essential:

Backend Development (Primary Focus):

  • Strong Python development experience, with demonstrated proficiency in building production applications
  • Java development experience in enterprise environments
  • Hands-on experience with microservices architecture
  • Practical experience in API design and development (REST, GraphQL)
  • Working knowledge of database design and optimization (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS)
  • Working knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
  • Practical experience with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

Full Stack Capabilities:

  • Working knowledge of frontend development (JavaScript/React)
  • Proficiency with Git and version control
  • Practical experience with Agile methodologies
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts
  • Experience implementing testing frameworks and practices

Desirable:

AI Platform Experience:

  • Exposure to AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
  • Basic knowledge of MLOps platforms and infrastructure
  • Understanding of ML model serving concepts
  • Familiarity with distributed computing principles
  • Experience with real-time data processing
  • Understanding of performance optimization and scaling techniques

Cloud & Infrastructure:

  • AWS certification or working towards certification
  • Basic experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Understanding of monitoring and logging systems
  • Knowledge of security best practices
  • Exposure to high-availability systems
  • Basic understanding of cloud cost optimization
