Role & responsibilities

Project Engineering & Design

  • Preparation, review, and approval of Instrumentation deliverables (P&IDs, Instrument Index, Datasheets, Hook-up drawings, Cable schedules, etc.).
  • Development of Design Basis, Specifications, and Control Philosophy.
  • Compliance with International Standards (ISA, IEC, API) and Client Specifications.

  • Review of 3D model for instrumentation layouts and accessibility.

  • Project Planning & Execution

  • Ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables as per project schedule.

  • Monitor progress and provide status reports to Project Management.

  • Support in estimating, scheduling, and resource allocation for instrumentation scope.

  • Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers.

  • Coordinate with Process, Electrical, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, and other disciplines for integrated design.

  • Act as focal point for client interactions regarding instrumentation.

  • Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and undergo proper checks.

  • Implement QA/QC procedures and compliance with internal/external audits.

  • Participate in Design Reviews, HAZOP, and SIL studies.

  • Vendor & Procurement Support

  • Review technical bids, prepare TBE (Technical Bid Evaluations).

  • Review and approve vendor drawings and documents.

  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and inspections.

  • Safety & Functional Integrity

  • Ensure instrumentation safety systems meet project SIL requirements.

  • Compliance with functional safety standards (IEC

  • Participate in HAZOP/SIL assessment workshops.

  • Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure client satisfaction by meeting technical and schedule commitments.

  • Support in proposal preparation for new projects (man-hours estimation, scope definition).
  • Manage technical queries and approvals from client side.
