Job Description

Job Description:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients and develop individualized treatment plans.

  • Monitor patients' vitals and clinical status using advanced ICU monitoring systems.

  • Manage life-threatening conditions such as:

    • Sepsis / septic shock

    • ARDS / respiratory failure

    • Multi-organ dysfunction

    • Trauma / postoperative complications

    • Acute renal failure

  • Administer and manage mechanical ventilation, inotropic support, renal replacement therapy (CRRT), etc.

  • Perform and supervise invasive procedures:

    • Central line placement

    • Arterial line insertion

    • Endotracheal intubation

    • Chest tube insertion

    • Lumbar puncture, etc.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (cardiology, surgery, pulmonology, nephrology, etc.) for holistic patient care.

  • Supervise ICU staff including junior doctors, nurses, and respiratory therapists.

  • Communicate effectively with patient families regarding prognosis and treatment plans.

  • Ensure accurate documentation, prescriptions, progress notes, and medico-legal compliance.

  • Participate in ICU rounds, mortality audits, infection control practices, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Handle emergency codes (Code Blue) and participate in resuscitation efforts hospital-wide.
