Senior Cloud Migration Engineer- Amazon EMR

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in IT with at least 4+ years in cloud data migration/engineering.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with AWS EMR Serverless, AWS Glue, Lambda.
  • Proficiency in R programming for statistical analysis, data manipulation, and integration within migration pipelines.
  • Solid experience with PL/SQL for database migrations and query optimization.
  • Strong understanding of big data frameworks (Spark, Hive, Presto, etc.) in AWS EMR.
  • Experience in ETL pipeline design, optimization, and orchestration.
  • Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, and compliance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, Git, Terraform/CloudFormation for infrastructure automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Good to Have:

  • Exposure to Snowflake, Redshift, or other cloud data warehouses.
  • Knowledge of data lake architectures on AWS (S3, Lake Formation).
  • Familiarity with Python/PySpark alongside R.
  • Experience in migrating large-scale financial/healthcare/enterprise data workloads.
