UI UX designer

location: Chennai (hybrid)

Experienced needed

Seeking a UI/UX Designer to drive the product design strategy at HCL GUVI. This

role involves tackling complex content challenges to create intuitive, high-

confidence user journeys. You will be essential in translating user needs into

elegant, scalable solutions developed collaboratively with across all platforms.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Design & User Focus
  • Understand business goals and user needs and turn them into clean, simple and easy-to-use designs that make learning effortless.
  • Discovery & Data-Informed Design
  • Conduct competitive analysis and contribute significantly to user research, journey mapping and usability testing.
  • Visual Execution & Prototyping
  • Own the creation of all design artifacts, including wireframes, interactive prototypes and UI components using Figma.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers and other Designers to co-create and bring features to life.

Design System Ownership

Maintain and improve HCL GUVI's design system to keep the product look and feel consistent across all platforms.

End-to-End Experience Ownership

Design and steward complete user experiences across mobile and web platforms, from concept definition through handoff.

Requirements

  • Experience of 1–2 years in UX/UI or Product Design, working on real - world digital products or platforms.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing the end-to-end design process with measurable outcomes.
  • Expert use of Figma advanced features (Auto Layout, Variants) for Design System management, other common design tools
  • Solid understanding of Core UX principles, responsive design and accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Ability to clearly articulate and defend design decisions within cross-functional teams.

Nice To Have

EdTech Experience: Experience designing for EdTech, Landing Pages, SaaS

products etc.

Tool Familiarity: Experience with tools like FigJam, Notion, After Effects, Photoshop and AI-based design or research tools.

Understanding of Front-End Basics: Working knowledge of HTML/CSS or exposure to developer handoff processes.

Designing for Everyone: Ability to design for diverse users, including regional language and accessibility considerations.
