Job Title: Store Assistant

Job Summary:

The Store Assistant will support the Store Officer in managing day-to-day store operations, including material receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation. This role involves assisting in inventory control, maintaining stock records, and ensuring smooth coordination with procurement and project teams. The ideal candidate should be organized, attentive to detail, and capable of handling physical and documentation tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Handling:
  • Assist in receiving, unloading, and verifying incoming materials against purchase orders or delivery challans.
  • Report any discrepancies or damages to the Store Officer immediately.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Support in maintaining stock registers, bin cards, and daily material logs.
  • Help in conducting regular stock verifications and audits.
  • Material Issuance:
  • Issue materials to departments or project sites based on approved requisitions.
  • Ensure proper documentation for every issue and return transaction.
  • Documentation & Record Keeping:
  • Assist in preparing Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), material issue slips, and return notes.
  • Maintain proper filing of invoices, delivery notes, and purchase documents under the guidance of the Store Officer.
  • Coordination:
  • Coordinate with the purchase and accounts departments regarding stock requirements, delivery updates, and documentation support.
  • Communicate effectively with the project team to ensure timely material availability.
  • Housekeeping & Safety:
  • Ensure the store area is organized, clean, and complies with safety standards.
  • Follow proper labeling, stacking, and material handling procedures.
  • Support Functions:
  • Assist the Store Officer in procurement follow-ups and stock reporting.
  • Help in preparing daily and weekly store activity reports.

Requirements:

  • Education: Any Diploma or Bachelor's Degree (preferred in Commerce or relevant field).
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in store operations or material handling (experience in manufacturing or marine industry preferred).
  • Technical Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and store procedures.
  • Familiarity with MS Excel and record-keeping practices.
  • Knowledge of Tally will be an added advantage.

Salary Range: ₹15,000 – ₹18,000 per month (based on experience and qualifications).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15, ₹18,000.00 per month
