About the Role :

We are seeking a visionary and accomplished Vice President Data Science & AI/ML to lead our advanced analytics and artificial intelligence division.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping strategic direction, defining applied AI capabilities, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver state-of-the-art data-driven solutions.

This position demands a leader with deep Fintech (proprietary trading) or MarTech (advertising technology) experience, a robust technical background, and strong business acumen to translate complex analytical concepts into high-impact commercial solutions.

The individual will be hands-on, capable of driving delivery excellence, while simultaneously nurturing a team of data scientists, ML engineers, and AI researchers towards innovation and performance.

The ideal candidate should have prior experience in designing and deploying AI Agents, Agentic AI systems, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and other next-generation intelligent automation frameworks that blend data science with human-like decision-making.

This is both a strategic and operational role, suited to a candidate who thrives at the intersection of leadership, technical depth, and applied innovation.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Strategy :

- Define and execute the firms strategic roadmap for Data Science, AI, and ML innovation, aligning with Fintech and MarTech priorities.

- Lead a cross-functional team of Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and Quantitative Researchers.

- Provide mentorship and hands-on technical support to the team, actively engaging in problem-solving and design discussions.

- Drive thought leadership in emerging areas such as Agentic AI frameworks, RAG pipelines, Generative AI, and predictive analytics for trading and marketing systems.

Technical Excellence :

- Architect and supervise end-to-end machine learning and AI agent pipelines covering data acquisition, knowledge retrieval, feature engineering, model training, deployment, and continuous monitoring.

- Oversee the design, testing, and optimisation of quantitative trading models, real-time forecasting systems, and AI-driven advertising intelligence frameworks.

- Ensure production-grade standards for accuracy, reliability, and performance within real-time environments.

- Evaluate and deploy AI Agent frameworks integrating reasoning, memory, and orchestration capabilities across distributed systems.

Client Engagement & Delivery :

- Serve as the senior client partner for AI-led initiatives, ensuring exceptional delivery standards and measurable business outcomes.

- Translate complex analytical findings into strategic insights and actionable recommendations for executive stakeholders.

- Engage directly with Fintech, Prop Trading, and MarTech clients to tailor advanced AI solutions aligned with business objectives.

- Promote excellence in client communication, documentation, and executive reporting.

Innovation & Research :

- Foster a culture of continuous experimentation and applied research, focusing on the intersection of Generative AI, multi-agent systems, and quantitative analytics.

- Lead internal R&D efforts around Agentic AI, autonomous decision systems, and adaptive learning environments.

- Build partnerships with academia, AI research groups, and cloud providers to keep the organisation at the forefront of innovation.

Required Qualifications :

Technical Competencies :

- Expert-level proficiency in Python and leading ML/AI libraries (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost).

- Strong command of SQL and big data processing using AWS Redshift, GCP Big Query, or equivalent frameworks.

- Deep understanding of AI Agent architectures, RAG pipelines, LLM fine-tuning, and vector database integration.

- Proven experience with MLOps, cloud computing (AWS, GCP, Azure), and model governance.

- Hands-on expertise in deploying and operationalising AI/ML models in productionpreferably within financial systems, trading infrastructure, or MarTech environments.

Experience Requirements :

years of progressive experience in data science, ML, or AI leadership.

- Proven experience in Fintech (Prop Trading) and/or MarTech (AdTech / Campaign Optimisation) projects.

- Demonstrated success in quantitative modelling, algorithmic trading, or AI-driven marketing automation.

- Experience leading distributed, multi-disciplinary teams and managing multi-million-dollar analytics programmes.

- Strong ability to work in fast-paced, client-driven environments while maintaining delivery excellence.

Preferred Domain Expertise :

- Fintech (Prop Trading) / MarTech (Advertising Technology)

- Quantitative strategy formulation, model backtesting, and simulation

- AI Agents, RAG, and autonomous orchestration systems

- Predictive modelling for trading, liquidity, and marketing conversion analytics

- Deep learning and reinforcement learning for optimisation

- Risk analytics and financial performance attribution using ML techniques

Work Location & Engagement Terms :

- Preferred Location : Kolkata (Hybrid mode available).

- Monthly visits to Kolkata HQ required for 7 -10 days .

- We are looking & giving preference to Candidates with a maximum notice period of 15 days.
