Key Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from various pharmacy and hospital systems to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for operational improvement.

  • Develop and maintain routine and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations using SQL and Power BI (or similar tools) to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Perform advanced data manipulation, modeling, and analysis using Microsoft Excel (Advanced), including pivot tables, complex formulas (VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, etc.), and data validation.

  • Operational Improvement:

  • Work closely with pharmacy leadership, pharmacists, technicians, and other clinical staff to understand operational challenges and requirements.

  • Map current pharmacy workflows (e.g., dispensing, compounding, inventory management, billing) and identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

  • Develop data-driven recommendations and business cases for process improvements, technology implementation, and resource allocation.

  • System and Data Management:

  • Serve as a liaison between pharmacy operations and IT/informatics teams to ensure data integrity and system functionality.

  • Assist in the testing and validation of new systems or system upgrades impacting pharmacy data.

  • Translate business needs into technical requirements for system enhancements or reporting tools.

  • Compliance and Financial Analysis:

  • Monitor performance against regulatory standards and best practices.

  • Support financial analysis related to drug spend, inventory cost, and staffing models.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.

  • Technical Proficiency:

  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL for querying relational databases, data extraction, and manipulation.

  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools, specifically Power BI (or Tableau/Qlik), including dashboard development and data model creation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, capable of using complex functions, modeling, and automation features.
  • Familiarity with various data warehousing concepts and data sources.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare Experience (Strongly Preferred): Previous experience working as a Business Analyst or similar role within a hospital or health system, preferably directly supporting pharmacy operations.
  • Familiarity with common hospital information systems (e.g., Electronic Health Records) and pharmacy management systems.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operational metrics, clinical quality measures, and relevant healthcare regulations

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
