Purpose of the Role:
The Portfolio Management Analyst will undertake key activities related to the management and analysis
of the SME-Finance (Loan against property, Supply Chain Finance and Construction Finance) portfolio.
This includes identifying trends in disbursals and overall portfolio performance, spotting strengths, and
detecting early delinquency indicators. The role's primary aim is to assist in building a strong and
healthy SME-Finance book through insightful data analysis, reporting, and collaboration with various
stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Performance Analysis & Reporting:
o Prepare insightful decks and dashboards to analyze and track trends in the SME-Finance
portfolio, including disbursals, performance, and other key risk indicators.
o Regularly monitor and report portfolio performance to stakeholders, providing critical
information that supports strategic decision-making across departments such as sales,
credit, operations, and senior leadership.
- Portfolio Reviews:
o Lead and conduct portfolio review meetings with stakeholders, following a defined
operating rhythm to evaluate the health of the portfolio, identify potential risks, and
recommend mitigation strategies.
- Data Management & Integrity:
o Ensure the accuracy, standardization, and integrity of data used for portfolio management
activities, making certain that data is clean, reliable, and ready for further analysis.
- Credit Risk Estimation & Modelling:
o Estimate Expected Credit Loss (PD, EAD, LGD) and perform credit risk modelling and
forecasting activities to anticipate potential risks and identify early signs of delinquency.
o Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculation for the lending book.
- Advanced Portfolio Analytics:
o Utilize advanced portfolio analytics techniques to analyze portfolio performance and risk,
including:
Vintage Curves, Portfolio at Risk, Early Warning System (EWS), Bureau Scrub
Analysis, Flow rates, Bounce Analysis, Loss Forecasting, and Stress Testing.
o Apply analytical insights to identify trends and recommend strategies to optimize portfolio
performance and mitigate risks.
- Data Handling & Statistical Analysis:
o Use large data-handling software (e.g., SQL) and statistical software (e.g., SAS, Python,
R) to process, analyze, and visualize portfolio data at scale.
o Ensure data is utilized effectively to perform in-depth statistical analysis and provide actionable insights.
Regulatory Reporting: o Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to portfolio management and credit risk reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submission of reports to & for regulatory bodies.
Continuous Improvement & Process Enhancement: o Support the ongoing improvement of portfolio management processes by providing recommendations for enhancements in data handling, analytics techniques, and reporting formats. o Stay updated with industry best practices and regulatory changes that affect portfolio management and credit risk analysis.
Eligibility Criteria for the Job
Education
MBA / B Com(H) / Masters in Economics
Age
24 to 35 years
Work Experience
Minimum 2 Years in a similar role
Primary Skill 1. Data and analytical skills 2. Experience of behavioral aspects of SME-Finance portfolios in the market 3. Working knowledge of ECL Estimation, loss forecasting, Portfolio Analytics 4. Hands on Bureau data for insight and competitive analysis.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in MS-Office modules – Word, Excel, Power Point 2. Deeper knowledge of analytical tools within MS Office 3. Use of other advanced analytical tools – SAS/ Python/ R
