Role Overview
The Sr. Manager – Land Acquisition will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and acquiring suitable land parcels for Solar EPC projects. The role requires strong experience in land due diligence, stakeholder management, regulatory compliance, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely acquisition and smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate land parcels suitable for utility-scale solar projects across India. Must have handled land parcels more than 500 Acres
- Conduct feasibility studies including technical, legal, and commercial due diligence of land.
- Negotiate with landowners, aggregators, and local authorities to acquire land on purchase/lease basis.
- Manage land acquisition process end-to-end, ensuring compliance with state and central regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with legal teams for title verification, documentation, and registration of land.
- Liaise with government departments, revenue authorities, and local bodies for approvals and NOCs.
- Build and manage relationships with local communities, government agencies, and key stakeholders.
- Maintain updated database of land opportunities, acquisition status, and cost benchmarks.
- Support project development team in securing Right of Way (RoW), transmission corridor, and access roads.
- Monitor and resolve land-related disputes/issues during project execution and operation.
- Lead a team of executives/associates for smooth execution of acquisition targets.
Key Requirements
- Graduate in Law / Business Administration / Rural Management / Engineering; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- 10–15 years of experience in land acquisition, preferably in Renewable Energy / Solar / Infrastructure / EPC.
- Should have experience in Managing land acquisition across various states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Southern India.
- Strong knowledge of land laws, state-specific revenue rules, and regulatory compliances.
- Proven track record in acquiring large land parcels for utility-scale solar/wind projects.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to travel extensively across project sites and regions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
