Role & responsibilities

The Head of Ship Construction Site (SCS) oversees all operations at the SCS, ensuring efficient assembly, integration, and outfitting of blocks into full ships, as well as ship repair operations in SCS area. This includes managing departments such as Engineering and Outfitting, Habitability, EE&I, Hull Integration (incl. B&P), Trials and Commissioning, and Dock Master Operations. Additionally, the role requires coordinating with stakeholders such as procurement, stores, contractors and the Block Construction Site (BCS) to deliver vessels on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with international regulations.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors degree in mechanical, industrial, or marine engineering; a master's degree in engineering management or business administration is beneficial.

Professional certifications in Project Management (PMP) or Quality Management (such as Six Sigma) are preferred.

Preferred Experience:

20+ years of experience in shipbuilding or project management with engineering project-based companies or manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.

Proven track record in managing complex engineering operations such welding, cutting, forging, fitting, electronics outfitting etc. and achieving financial and operational targets.

Operations Management: Expertise in shipbuilding and ship repair with a focus on process

optimization.

Leadership & People Management: Strong leadership abilities to manage and develop senior managers and drive team alignment with business objectives.

Project Execution & Quality Assurance: Proficiency in managing project execution to meet timelines, budget, and quality standards.

Strategic Planning & Decision Making: Advanced skills in strategic planning, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making.

Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial performance tracking to meet financial goals.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in ERP systems, project management software, and MS Office for reporting, tracking, and financial analysis
