We are seeking a new college Ph.D. student in the role of mixed-signal data converter design engineer. The individual will perform feasibility analysis and transistor-level design for data converter and other mixed-signal circuits operating at frequencies well into the GHz range. The candidate must be a team player with excellent communication skills, an ability to work independently, and an ability to work on projects with peers across groups at remote sites.
Job Responsibilities:
- Will define circuit requirements and complete design from schematic, layout, and verification to characterization
- Completion of circuit layout and/or define layout requirements for a mask designer
- Write specification and test requirements documentation
- Behavioral modeling of analog and digital circuits. Complete mixed-signal simulations for verification of chip level and system-level performance
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. with a strong analog design background
- Excellent mixed-signal circuit design knowledge and skill
- IC design background, in-depth knowledge of deep sub-micron silicon processes, manufacturing & mixed-signal design flow
- Extensive experience using Cadence or equivalent circuit design and simulation tools
- Digital signal process including hands-on experience with Matlab
- Ability to characterize, de-bug and troubleshoot your designs in the lab through hands on characterization including knowledge of multi-GHz test considerations
- Strong analytical skills and extremely detail oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Team player
