Introduction:

Basic Hitech Furniture Private Limited seeks an experienced quantity surveyor to manage project costs for building and interior projects. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial viability and profitability of our construction projects, working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents.

  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for optimal pricing and terms.

  • Manage project budgets, including cost forecasting and monitoring.

  • Maintain accurate cost records and documentation.

  • Understand client requirements and take off quantities from drawings.

  • Prepare BOQs by studying specification sheets from the sales team.

  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between BOQs and project documents.

  • Participate in pre-tender activities and raise pre-bid queries.

  • Prepare initial quotes and contracts for the sales team.

  • Coordinate with the design team to analyze architectural and service drawings.

  • Manage work valuation, claims, and variations.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize project outcomes and achieve value for money.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in quantity surveying, construction management, interior designing, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting, preferably in construction/interior contracting.

  • Knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations, and standards.

  • Familiarity with contract administration and legal aspects.

  • Understanding of various contracting methods and project types.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and quantity validation from drawings.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in relevant quantity surveying software and tools.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Professional membership or certification in quantity surveying or construction management.

  • Experience with residential and commercial construction projects.

  • Familiarity with BIM and quantity takeoff software.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to work under pressure.
