What are we looking for: The selected contractor will serve as an Application Developer focused on leveraging Google BigQuery for high-impact data processing and analytics solutions. The role is integral to supporting business-critical applications and driving data-driven decision-making within the organisation. The contractor will participate in designing, developing, testing, and deploying scalable data solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust business outcomes

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimise data pipelines, queries, and ETL processes using Google BigQuery
• Collaborate with data analysts, business stakeholders, and other developers to deliver end-to-end data solutions
• Support troubleshooting, performance tuning, and best practices for data warehousing
• Document technical specifications, solutions, and processes for future reference
• Adhere to project timelines and participate in regular progress reviews

Professional & Technical Skills

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and high-performance BigQuery data models and pipelines
• Work with large datasets, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security
• Develop and maintain automated ETL jobs and scripts
• Collaborate with software engineers, testers, and business analysts for requirement gathering and implementation
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Prepare technical documentation and user guides as required
• Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy policies
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to BigQuery and data workflows

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Google BigQuery
• Hands-on experience with SQL for complex data manipulation and analysis
• Experience in building and optimising ETL pipelines
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or equivalent)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio)
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices
• Exposure to DevOps practices and tools
• Understanding of data security and regulatory compliance in India

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in data engineering or application development roles, with at least 2 years using Google BigQuery

Additional Information

• Candidate should be ready for Shift B and must be able to work as an individual contributor.
• Google BigQuery is a must-have skill for this position.
