Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Data Visualization Developer II with deep expertise in Power BI to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade dashboards and reporting solutions. This role requires strong UI/UX expertise, data modeling skills, and a deep understanding of performance optimization, security, and enterprise data platforms such as Databricks, SAP Datasphere, and EDW solutions.

The ideal candidate should be able to transform complex datasets into intuitive, impactful visual insights that drive strategic decision-making while ensuring governance, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Visualization & UI/UX Development:

• Design and develop highly interactive, scalable, and visually compelling dashboards using Power BI with a strong focus on user experience (UX), storytelling, and self-service analytics enablement.
• Optimize report performance by implementing efficient DAX measures, Power Query (M), and best-in-class visualization techniques.
• Ensure UI/UX best practices, accessibility, and consistency across enterprise reporting solutions.

Data Modeling & Integration:

• Architect and implement efficient, scalable data models while adhering to best practices for structured and semi-structured data.
• Integrate and transform large datasets from Databricks, SAP Datasphere, EDW solutions, and other cloud platforms for optimal performance.
• Develop and maintain semantic layers and metadata models for optimized data consumption.

Performance Optimization & Platform Engineering:

• Conduct performance tuning of reports, queries, and models to ensure fast, responsive, and high-performance BI solutions.
• Work closely with data engineers and architects to improve query execution times, caching mechanisms, and overall system efficiency.
• Optimize real-time and batch processing scenarios, ensuring high availability and reliability of reports.

Security, Governance & Compliance:

• Implement enterprise-grade security models, including row-level security (RLS), object-level security (OLS), and data access controls.
• Ensure all BI solutions comply with data governance policies, security protocols, and regulatory standards.
• Champion data quality, lineage, and governance frameworks to maintain trusted, accurate reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, executives, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
• Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for business units and deliver intuitive, data-driven storytelling dashboards.
• Drive adoption of self-service BI, enabling business users to derive insights independently.

Innovation & Thought Leadership:

• Stay ahead of emerging BI technologies, including AI/ML-powered analytics, next-generation BI platforms, and data visualization advancements.
• Mentor and coach junior developers, sharing best practices in data visualization, performance tuning, and BI platform engineering.
• Advocate for automation, DevOps for BI, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and report lifecycle management.

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise BI development, including Power BI (DAX, M Queries) at an expert level.
• Strong UI/UX expertise, including data storytelling, design thinking, and interactivity in BI dashboards.
• Expertise in data modeling and transformation, particularly in Databricks, SAP Datasphere, and cloud-based data warehouses (EDW solutions).
• Proficiency in performance optimization techniques for large-scale datasets and complex BI queries.
• Solid experience in data security frameworks, including row-level security (RLS), identity management, and access control within BI tools.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, able to navigate complex business problems and deliver scalable solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Certifications in Power BI, or related BI tools (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with cloud BI architectures (Azure, AWS, GCP) and integration with enterprise platforms.
• Knowledge of DevOps for BI (CI/CD pipelines for Power BI).
• Knowledge of AI/ML-driven analytics, predictive modeling, and natural language querying (NLQ) in BI tools.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, JIRA, and enterprise project management tools.
