  1. Credit Risk Assessment:

  2. Loan Application Review: Assess and review loan applications and credit requests from clients or businesses, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided and accurate.

  3. Creditworthiness Evaluation: Analyze credit reports, financial statements, income statements, balance sheets, and other relevant documents to determine the applicants ability to repay the loan.
  4. Risk Assessment: Evaluate risk factors and determine the level of risk associated with each loan, considering credit scores, payment history, industry trends, and economic conditions.
  5. Decision Making: Based on analysis, decide whether to approve, decline, or recommend changes to credit terms for applications.

  6. Collateral Evaluation: Where applicable, assess the value and appropriateness of collateral provided to secure the credit.

  7. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:

  8. Policy Adherence: Ensure all credit decisions are in line with internal credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  9. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on the latest industry regulations (e.g., Basel III, Dodd-Frank) and ensure all credit decisions comply with these standards.

  10. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of credit analysis and decisions to support auditing and compliance reviews.

  11. Portfolio Management & Monitoring:

  12. Portfolio Review: Regularly review the performance of the credit portfolio, identifying any emerging risks or opportunities for improvement.

  13. Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to gather additional information, address concerns, or request further documentation when necessary.

  14. Risk Mitigation: Proactively monitor clients' financial conditions post-approval to anticipate any potential issues, recommending appropriate actions if necessary (e.g., restructuring or refinancing).

  15. Collaboration with Other Teams:

  16. Collaboration with Sales & Relationship Managers: Work closely with the sales and relationship management teams to ensure smooth processing of credit applications and alignment of risk assessment with business goals.

  17. Cross-Department Communication: Collaborate with other departments (e.g., legal, collections, risk management) to ensure timely and accurate loan processing and risk mitigation strategies.

  19. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on the credit portfolio's status, trends, and key performance metrics for senior management and risk committees.
