Project Type: Large-scale SAP ABAP Factory delivery supporting multi-stream SAP initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and support SAP ABAP objects across multiple functional workstreams.
  • Work on standard and custom development, including:
  • Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms (RICEF/RICEFW)
  • OData services
  • CDS Views, AMDP, and modern ABAP (S/4HANA)
  • Workflow, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits
  • Participate in ABAP Factory delivery model:
  • Receive work packets
  • Deliver code, unit-test results, and technical documentation
  • Adhere to development SLAs, quality gates, and naming conventions
  • Collaborate with onsite coordinators and client teams in US time zone.
  • Resolve defects, conduct performance tuning, and support integration testing cycles.
  • Ensure adherence to SAP best practices and client coding standards.

Required Experience

  • 3–10+ years hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
  • Strong expertise in:
  • RICEF/RICEFW
  • OO-ABAP
  • BAPIs, BADIs, Enhancements
  • SmartForms, Adobe Forms
  • Data Dictionary Objects
  • Experience with S/4HANA ABAP:
  • CDS Views
  • OData
  • AMDP
  • UI5 exposure is a plus
  • Experience working in an offshore–onsite model preferred.
  • Ability to work with global teams and follow structured factory delivery processes.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • SAP UI5 / Fiori development experience
  • SAP BTP environment exposure
  • Workflow development
  • Knowledge of SAP integration technologies
  • Prior experience in large enterprise transformations

RESOURCING REQUIREMENT DOCUMENT (For Recruiters / Vendors)

1. Overview

The client requires 30 offshore SAP ABAP developers to support a high-volume SAP development program delivered via a Factory Model. Workstreams and detailed components will be shared by the client as they finalise the scope.

2. Delivery Model

  • 100% offshore delivery
  • Team managed by a partner firm in India
  • Individual developers must be capable of following packet-based delivery
  • Daily coordination with the on-site US team
  • Must ensure 2–4 hours overlap with the US time zone

4. Technical Skills Required

  • RICEF / RICEFW objects
  • OO-ABAP
  • S/4HANA ABAP including CDS, OData, AMDP
  • Interfaces (IDocs, RFC, SOAP/REST, BAPI)
  • Forms (SmartForms, Adobe Forms)
  • Performance tuning
  • Debugging and defect resolution
  • Optional: UI5/Fiori, Workflow, BTP

5. Process Expectations

  • Developers will receive work packets (tasks) from the onsite coordinator
  • Must deliver:

  • Quality gates
  • The factory lead in India will oversee delivery governance

6. Screening Criteria (Recruiters Must Validate)

  • Hands-on ABAP assessment
  • Coding samples or on-the-spot problem solving
  • Experience with S/4HANA development
  • Strong communication, specifically clarity in English
  • Availability for long-term engagement
  • Ability to work during partial US time zone overlap

Job Type: Contractual / Temporary

Pay: ₹60, ₹200,000.00 per month
