Role & responsibilities

Develop and review process engineering deliverables such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, Heat and Material Balances (HMBs), and process simulations.

  • Conduct equipment sizing, hydraulic calculations, and relief valve sizing in accordance with project and industry standards.
  • Create process datasheets, line lists, and process descriptions.
  • Perform steady-state and dynamic process simulations using tools like Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or ProMax.
  • Ensure process safety through participation in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL assessments, and risk reviews.
  • Support interdisciplinary coordination with mechanical, piping, electrical, and control teams.
  • Interface with clients, vendors, and project teams during design reviews and technical meetings.
  • Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian regulations, industry codes (ASME, API), and environmental standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in chemical or Process Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 8–15 years of experience in process engineering for oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, or energy projects.
  • Proficiency in process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ProMax, ChemCAD).
  • Strong working knowledge of international process design codes and safety standards.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
