Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer (SPEL) will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and maintaining electrical engineering deliverables using SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL). The role involves coordination with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of electrical design documents in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, and maintain electrical design deliverables using SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL).
  • Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), load lists, power distribution diagrams, cable sizing calculations, MCC/PMCC layouts, and other electrical documents.
  • Generate and manage equipment data sheets, cable schedules, load summaries, and electrical equipment lists.
  • Ensure the SPEL database is accurate, consistent, and aligned with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (Instrumentation, Mechanical, Civil) for interface requirements.
  • Review vendor documents and incorporate relevant data into the SPEL environment.
  • Conduct quality checks on electrical drawings and deliverables.
  • Support 3D model reviews and provide technical inputs to resolve design issues.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, client standards, and applicable electrical codes (IEC, IEEE, NEC, IS Standards).
  • Provide technical support during project execution and assist in resolving field/engineering queries.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–7 years of experience in electrical engineering within EPC/Oil & Gas/Power/Chemical projects.
  • Hands-on experience with SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL) is mandatory.
  • Good understanding of electrical systems such as power distribution, motor control, lighting, grounding, earthing, and cable routing.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, and vendor drawings.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, IS, etc.).
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet project schedule requirements.
