Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of food items including snacks, beverages accompaniments, and café specials.
  • Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in the kitchen at all times.
  • Manage kitchen inventory: track stock, request supplies, and minimize wastage.
  • Assist in planning new menu items and seasonal specials.
  • Train and guide junior kitchen staff in food preparation and hygiene.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment functionality and report maintenance needs.
  • Follow café policies regarding portion size, quality standards, and service time.
  • Collaborate with the café team to maintain smooth operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Chef / Cook in a café, restaurant, or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of café-style menu items, snacks, and beverages.
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays if required.
