11The Role: Data Product Owner
The Team: Know Your Third Party (KY3P)
The role will report into Product Manager for KY3P - IDA Team. The team is committed to delivering essential intelligence that our clients rely on to make impactful decisions.
The team is focused on building RDX Datastore i.e. Risk Data Exchange that will be a repository of datasets from various sources as well as domains like financial health, location risk, cyber etc. The team has existing data feed integrations from multiple teams and sources that includes third party partners as well as internal S&P product teams.
The Impact: This role will play a critical role in meeting the evolving requirements for the product and the business.

As a Data Product owner, you should be an experienced and technically capable specialist responsible for managing the end-to-end requirements to build the product.
Responsibilities:
- Define and manage the product backlog for data store, data integration and analytics initiatives of the product.
- Prioritize and groom backlog items, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical feasibility.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical user stories with clear acceptance criteria that is aligned with the product roadmap.

- Support sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives in an Agile environment.
- Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with architects, software developers, and QA teams to ensure smooth delivery.
- Create and enhance the data model as and when required for building the data store.
- Setting up the data dictionaries of the product and ensuring correct data ingestion as per the data model.
- Own and deliver existing data feed API integrations related requirements within the product.
- Write and review SQL queries to validate data quality and transformations.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis a plus.
- Own release documentations and conduct product training/demo sessions.
- Perform product UAT and manage customer queries.
Required Qualifications:
- Total experience of 12+ years in the product owner role in the industry.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in roles such as Data Product Owner or Data Integration Specialist in a data-centric environment is mandatory.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of Data Products and relevant technologies; DMBS/SQL, Data models, APIs, Amazon RedShift, Apache Airflow.
- Experience in designing, implementing and/or maintaining data systems and transformation processes.
- Proficiency in query languages and well as experience in interpreting complex database structures.
- Strong attention to detail and clarity of requirements for technical development.
- Proven experience working with strategic external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Experience in structured and unstructured data storage solutions in some capacity (e.g. SQL, Postgres, AWS S3) is beneficial.
- Prior experience working in global teams with colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Ability to document and communicate clearly across technical and business audiences.
