Position Overview:

The Senior Chartered Accountant will oversee the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements specific to the financial sector, and providing strategic financial guidance. The role plays a critical part in budgeting, audits, risk management, and the maintenance of internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and financial sector regulations (RBI, SEBI, IND AS/IFRS).
  • Oversee accounting operations including ledger management, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable.
  • Ensure strict compliance with statutory laws, taxation (GST, TDS, corporate tax), and sector-specific regulations.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and resolving audit findings.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and capital adequacy metrics relevant to financial institutions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and contribute to financial risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities and ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior finance and accounting team members.
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and controls for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification from ICAI or equivalent recognized body.
  • Bachelors degree in Commerce, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in finance or accounts roles within the financial sector (banks, insurance, NBFCs, financial services).
  • Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, financial regulations applicable to the financial sector, and experience with regulatory reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in managing audits and regulatory inspections specific to the financial sector.
  • Ability to interpret and implement evolving financial regulations and prudential norms.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with experience mentoring junior staff.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
