The Role: Senior Associate- Statutory Reporting

What's in it for you: We are seeking a diligent and experienced Senior Associate- Statutory Reporting to oversee all aspects of statutory accounting and compliance for our legal entities primarily across the APAC region. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation, audit, and filing of financial statements in a complex, multi-GAAP environment.

This role requires close collaboration with external auditors, internal finance teams, and business leaders to ensure all local regulatory requirements are met under US GAAP, converged IFRS, and IND AS.

Working Hours : India Hours (the candidate must be flexible to support UK hours)

Responsibilities and Impact:

The candidate is responsible globally for ensuring the ledger integrity encompasses several duties, including but not limited to:

Financial Statement Preparation: Lead the preparation and review of skeleton and full statutory financial statements for all local entities of the group (Primarily across APAC region)

Reporting Compliances: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards which applies to the respective jurisdiction of the legal entities. Adhere to the statutory reporting requirements in relation to the corporation/companies/other acts applicable to the legal entities including adherence to secretarial reporting requirements.

Board & Management Communication: Own the creation and delivery of all finance-related board presentations, synthesizing complex data from all APAC entities. Articulately present these findings, respond to executive queries, and provide actionable recommendations on financial health and compliance.

Audit Management: Act as the primary point of contact and lead all liaison with statutory auditors. Manage the end-to-end audit process, including planning, fieldwork, and finalization, to ensure audits are completed efficiently and on time.

Balance Sheet review: Spearhead the end-to-end group-level balance sheet review process; this includes collating financial data for all Balance Sheet line items, preparing and reviewing all supporting schedules for accuracy, and consolidating this analysis into a final deck for presentation to the global controllership team and CFO.

Reconciliation & Substantiation : Oversee the reconciliation of statutory accounts to group (US GAAP) management accounts, identifying and documenting all GAAP and other differences.

Stakeholder Management : Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Group Financial Control, FP&A, Business functions and Technical Accounting to strategically address and resolve ad-hoc financial and operational challenges.

Process Improvement: Proactively identifying opportunities to enhance and streamline accounting processes, leveraging automation and best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Initiatives / Projects: Lead initiatives / projects as required to support any business driven / system changes.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Experience:

To be successful in this role, the Senior Associate must possess a mix of Technical & Professional competencies.

Experience: 7-10 years of progressive experience specifically in statutory reporting, financial accounting, or external audit.

Technical Accounting: Advanced knowledge of IND AS, IFRS and USGAAP.

Financial & Accounting Acumen: Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles with focus on disclosure and reporting requirements.

Driving Change & System Implementation : Good working experience in process & system transition (Preferably SAP).

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to key stakeholders (Group Controller, CFO).

Analytical skills: Excellent quantitative and analytical skills to interpret complex financial data and trends.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to reviewing financial data, reconciliations, and journal entries to ensure 100% accuracy.

Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively .

Problem-solving: Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective resolutions.

Technological proficiency : Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, advanced formulas) and extensive experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, Dayforce) for payroll and general ledger functionalities.

CA / ICWA

Specialization in Statutory Reporting for at least the last 4-5 years.
