Procurement Category Manager, Data Center Sourcing and Procurement

The Infrastructure team provides AWS and with the compute, network and datacenter capacity that are the foundations of the retail and cloud business. We are seeking a Procurement professional to support the APAC data center procurement space in India.

As a Procurement Category Manager, you will create and implement sourcing strategies for complex construction services categories and collaborate with internal business partners and suppliers to reduce risks and costs for Amazon. You will develop mechanisms and metrics to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery. Additionally, you will drive results through methods that include competitive bidding, negotiating, and analyzing data and market trends for your category. You will also create global Procurement processes and tools to drive innovation across teams.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead the construction OSA (off-site assembly)/pre-fabrication procurement strategy and activities for India and APAC Region
• Own supplier sourcing, facility audits, capacity planning and cost management for the OSA/ Pre-Fab initiatives
• Provide in-depth knowledge about the supply market and supplier capabilities, technically and geographically, to the business.
• Understand trends in customers' needs and concerns across categories and regions to influence customers' priorities
• Analyze category data and metrics to establish and implement procurement category strategies
• Drive regional initiatives and programs across the construction procurement team
• Develop mechanisms and metrics to track supplier performance related to delivery, quality, and cost
• Lead business reviews to discuss best practices and issues and to ultimately improve supplier performance and strengthen business partnerships
• Innovate within the procurement space, automating and/or improving tools or processes to better support the Procurement Lifecycle
• Some travel may be required, up to 25%.

• 5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, operational and financial analysis experience
• Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization, including coaching of junior staff
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field
• Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company
• Experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience in program, project, product management, or leading a product implementation process
• Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies
