Essential skills for this role are strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contacting Debtors: Initiating communication with clients through phone, email, and other channels to remind them of overdue payments.

  • Negotiating Payment Plans: Working with clients to establish realistic payment plans and settlement agreements to recover outstanding debts.

  • Maintaining Records: Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities, client interactions, and payment statuses.

  • Resolving Disputes: Addressing customer inquiries, resolving payment discrepancies, and finding mutually agreeable solutions to foster positive relationships.

  • Adhering to Policies: Ensuring all collection efforts comply with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.

  • Achieving Targets: Working towards and meeting set financial collection goals and recovery rates.

  • Negotiation: Ability to negotiate payment terms and solutions that are beneficial to both the company and the client.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: A high school diploma is typically required, with a degree in business, finance, or accounting being beneficial.

  • Experience: Previous experience in customer service, sales, or a collections-related field is advantageous.

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with collection software and record-keeping systems is often required.
