Job Title: Trading Systems Support Analyst APAC (Equity Markets)

Location: Powai, Mumbai

Work Mode: Hybrid 2 days WFO

Shift Timings: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM IST to 4:00 PM IST

Weekend Support: Two Saturdays per month (Comp-off provided)

Role Overview:

This is a hands-on, high-ownership individual contributor role with direct interaction with trading desks, internal users, and global teams. You will be responsible for supporting the production trading environment of Instinet APAC and ensuring uninterrupted service availability for front-office users. The position involves both technical and functional responsibilities with a strong emphasis on proactive issue resolution and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide first-line support for Instinets APAC trading environment and front-end users.

Deliver exceptional support to both internal (traders, trade support) and external clients.

Ensure high availability and reliability of real-time trading systems.

Monitor system alerts, conduct regular system health checks, and troubleshoot proactively.

Investigate and resolve front-end and back-end trading issues in coordination with global teams.

Manage incidents from detection to resolution, ensuring minimal impact to trading operations.

Collaborate with development, QA, and business stakeholders to deploy upgrades and enhancements.

Provide advisory support to trading desks for system configurations and use cases.

Log, track, and escalate issues using service request tools (e.g., Jira).

Participate in weekend support rotations and provide coverage during critical events or releases.

Support Instinet's proprietary OMS, market data, and exchange connectivity systems.

Review changes and releases for impact to trading systems and users.

Assist in data requests for regulatory and compliance purposes.

Mandatory Skills & Experience:

Strong understanding of Equity Capital Markets and Investment Banking domain (MANDATORY).

Prior experience in Trading Systems Support (MANDATORY).

Hands-on experience supporting front-end trading applications.

Strong knowledge of FIX Protocol and experience troubleshooting FIX issues.

Solid Unix/Linux skills – file editing, process management, system monitoring.

Basic scripting skills (Shell/Python).

Working knowledge of SQL for basic queries.

Experience with Market Data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters).

Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Autosys or Crontab.

Strong communication skills – both verbal and written – due to the trading desk-facing nature of the role.

Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently in a high-pressure environment.

Hands-on experience with incident management and ticketing systems like Jira.

Client-centric attitude and a high sense of ownership.

Desirable Skills:

Experience with automation of support processes.

Exposure to OMS/EMS systems in a global trading environment.

Knowledge of APAC market structure, symbology, and order flows.

Prior helpdesk or trading operations support experience.
