What You'll Do:
Facility Security
Security Management and Compliance:- The Security Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining security policies and procedures for WMCBE in coordination with the senior security manager at WMIDC Chennai. The role involves reviewing and timely evaluating security processes to ensure updates are made to the senior manager. Additionally, the Security Manager designs security measures to safeguard associates, prevent unauthorized access to Walmart equipment, facilities, and materials, and prevent sabotage and theft. The Security Manager also manages and monitors security incidents, responds to breaches, and investigates and reports incidents to the senior security manager.
The Security Manager is responsible for various other tasks, including developing and delivering security awareness training programs for contact center associates, serving as a BCP Planning & Program coordinator for WMCBE-CES business pillars, providing insight to safety design in disaster management as a member of the Chennai Crisis Management Team, managing and conducting all security audits, budgeting for annual budget estimates for 3rd Party guarding services and other security gadgets, Due Diligence Audits, and maintaining a secure environment at all WMCBE-CES buildings by ensuring all security protocols are followed in letter and spirit. The Security Manager is also responsible for establishing and maintaining procedures to reduce internal theft and losses, ensuring timely completion of reports, and ensuring all necessary actions are commenced as required.
Access Control and Security Management : The Access Control and Security Management team is responsible for ensuring the security and safety of the facility by scrutinizing and recording all accesses into and out of the facility, including personnel and store entrances. The team is also responsible for managing the Access Control Systems (ACS), ensuring all ACS are functional and in case of malfunction, rectifying the issue with the vendor at the earliest. Additionally, the team is responsible for badging, including the correct and timely issue of ID/access cards to associates, consultants, and contractors, as well as the security, accounting, and documentation of these cards.
The team also regulates the entry and exit of all visitors to the facility through the Visitor Management System (VMS), ensures the functioning of the VMS, and trains 3rd party Security Rank structure personnel in handling the VMS and the reports & returns. Furthermore, the team controls the material gate, ensuring all materials going out and coming into the property are properly documented, and maintains the security and accounting of gate passes and conducts audits as appropriate to Tech park regulations too ( For e.g:- SEZ tech park, STPI, Non-STPI Parks) .
Fire Safety and Emergency Response: The Fire Safety and Emergency Response team is responsible for ensuring the safety of the facility by ensuring all firefighting equipment is always in a serviceable state in coordination with the building team. The team also plans and conducts floor training for all associates, selects and trains the Emergency Response Team (ERT), and plans and conducts evacuation drills for all associates and staff at least twice a year in concurrence with the builder's team. Additionally, the team ensures weekly checks of the PA system are carried out in conjunction with the BMS ( Building maintenance Service) team and trains security personnel in the handling of fire extinguishers.
3rd Party Guarding Services
Third Party Guarding Services Management : The Third-Party Guarding Services Management team is responsible for managing the 3rd Party Security Force, including selection, deployment, training, administration, and attendance while deployed in WMCBE-CES. The team establishes and maintains systems and procedures to ensure regular patrolling of the entire office. Additionally, the team manages, scrutinizes, and forwards all bills pertaining to guarding services to the Finance department. The team also draws out the contract with the 3rd Party Security Firm based on a comprehensive analysis of other security firms and evaluation of the best and cost-effective option available for WM.
The team reviews daily activities of security guards and supervisors on all shifts, ensures all security staff are properly trained in emergency procedures at all times, and maintains responsibility for payroll and scheduling of security staff, ensuring all necessary time sheets and documents are completed and signed. The team also ensures security staff are neatly and well turned out in appearance, report for duty on time as scheduled, and perform to set standards. Furthermore, the team resolves all issues with 3rd Party Security Vendors and investigates any incidents related to them.
Risk Mitigation
• Conduct risk assessments and develop plans to mitigate the risks
• Implement risk mitigation measures & management of risk at WMCBE-CES/Bengaluru -Chennai temporary and long-term spaces and also be part of the expansion plan if any of the business at Chennai/Bengaluru.
• Risk Analysis – Provide Risk Analysis for events and security situation to enable crisis management team to take timely decision
Safety/ Fire Audits
• Conduct Security Audits of the premises and for any new office or premises
• Event Management- to provide inputs and manage events organized by WM IDC/CBE-CES
Facility safety
• Be aware of the local safety instructions issued by the Govt and same be implemented in coordination with the building landlord
• To always ensure facility safety through implementation of policies and procedures, ensure that the WMCBE-CES maintains full compliance with all legislative acts including occupational health and Safety Act.
• Conduct regular inspections of the property in order to ensure that the safety of the associates, and WM property are not being compromised by potentially dangerous situations
Reporting
- Bring all aberrations in security to the notice of the Security Manager, by Incident Reports, immediately on occurrence and resolve to the extent possible.
- Ensure POSH incidents are reported immediately.
Woman Associate Safety : The security Manager be aware and well versed in The Woman Associate Safety and Escort Services policy which aims to ensure the safety and well-being of female associates commuting to and from the facility between 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM. To achieve this, the policy requires the selection and training of Male Security Escort Guards (MSEGs) to accompany female associates during their commute. Additionally, the security Manager be aware of the policy mandates on the timely deployment of MSEGs and the maintenance of auditable documents related to the provision of escorts. Furthermore, the policy requires the assistance of the Security Manager be Responsible in the functioning of the Women Night Operation Center (W NOC) if established.
The policy also emphasizes the importance of maintaining all auditable documents related to the provision of escorts, which are required for the annual woman's safety audit. This ensures that the necessary records are kept in demonstrating compliance with the policy and to facilitate the audit process. By implementing these policy measures, the security Manager assists in achieving the policy aims which is to provide

Executive Protection
The Executive Protection team shall provide protection to executives as and when required, ensuring their safety and security. Under the Overall coordination planned and executed by the Security Manager IDC Chennai.
Workplace Safety
To ensure a safe working environment, the team shall be knowledgeable about statutory and regulatory requirements of law enforcement and intelligence agencies of the local government. Additionally, they shall maintain a high level of general concern for workplace safety amongst all WMCBE staff through the implementation of various policies and procedures. Furthermore, they shall ensure that there is no workplace violence by maintaining a proper intelligence system and taking prompt action to bring it under control in case it occurs.
Liaison and Communication
The team shall build and maintain a close and good liaison with local law enforcement agencies, OSAC, and the local fire department. They shall also carry out annual fire mock drills if required. Moreover, they shall maintain constant liaison with the local law enforcement agency, intelligence, fire department, and building security team to obtain security updates.
Additional Responsibilities
On instructions from the Sr Security Manager, IDC Chennai, Which is duly approved by the Security Manager IDC & CBE-CES, the team shall be prepared to undertake any additional responsibilities of security management.
Miscellaneous - The team shall maintain control of lost and found valuables, ensuring that all items are properly accounted for in the storage and returned to associates/visitors upon enquiries and verifications being made.
