Role & responsibilities

  1. Prepare and review Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) from structural drawings for all RCC elements.

  2. Coordinate with structural and civil teams for resolving discrepancies in drawings.

  3. Ensure accurate quantity estimation of steel reinforcement.

  4. Preparation of bar bending schedule.

  5. Check BBS submissions and ensure compliance with project standards.

  6. Monitor steel usage on site and provide consumption reports.

  7. Assist procurement and stores team with timely updates on reinforcement requirements.

  8. Provide support during client or third-party audits regarding steel quantities.

  9. Coordinate with site execution team for steel placement as per BBS.

  10. Maintain records of steel reconciliation.

Key Skills Required:

  • Proficient in BBS preparation using AutoCAD / Excel / RebarCAD or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of RCC detailing and structural drawings.
  • Good knowledge of IS codes (IS: 2502, IS: 456, SP: 34, etc.).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in quantity calculations.
  • Basic knowledge of steel procurement and reconciliation processes.
