Meet Our Team:

The Global Localization Platform team is responsible for an automated string management platform that transforms how we handle user-facing text across all our products, as well as the tools and tooling components used to manage localizations through self-service within our internal suite of tools called Studio. This platform significantly boosts the productivity of Copywriters and Translation Operations, while improving the workflow for development teams that integrate language strings. By automating string collection, translation and deployment, the team ensures higher-quality English and translated strings are delivered faster and more consistently. In short, our team's work underpins the localization efforts that make Warner Bros. Discovery's streaming products truly global.

  • You bring a company-first mindset, thinking not just about what's best for your teams, but for the broader organization.

  • Whether building new capabilities, scaling your teams, or solving thorny architectural challenges, you lead with empathy, data and clarity.

  • Partner with the engineering Director to refine and execute long-term goals and roadmaps for the Global Localization Platform, aligning efforts with global WBD streaming initiatives across platforms such as HBO Max, Discovery+, CNN and Bleacher Report.

  • Build, scale and manage a high-performing software engineering team. Guide team structure, hiring decisions, onboarding and retention. Coach individual contributors, helping them grow in technical depth and ownership.

  • Stay technically involved by diving deep into architectural discussions, reviewing designs and facilitating tradeoff decisions. You support teams in evaluating when to build new vs. extend existing services, with an emphasis on scalable, observable and resilient systems.

  • Ensure your teams build production-grade services with strong focus on testability, performance, CI/CD, observability and fault tolerance. Drive standards around alerting, metrics, runbooks and incident response.

  • Work closely with product, program management and other engineering leads to ensure timely delivery of features, infrastructure and cross-cutting initiatives. Facilitate alignment across teams and manage interdependencies, balancing speed, quality and scope.
