Love Letter is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented
Assistant Buyer & Merchandise Planning Associate
to support the founder across product development, buying, and merchandising.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with numbers and data and has a love for fashion and retail. You'll assist in managing the full product lifecycle, from range planning and vendor coordination to analyzing sales performance, helping ensure that every collection aligns with Love Letter's commercial goals.
You'll gain hands-on experience in fashion buying, merchandising, and assortment planning — working directly with the founder to optimize the performance of the brand's offerings across sales channels.
This role sits at the intersection of fashion, data, and growth, ensuring that every product decision enhances Love Letter's commercial success and brand positioning.
Key Responsibilities
Trend & Product Strategy
- Assist the founder in tracking seasonal fashion and jewelry trends, competitive research, and global retail movements.
- Support in developing range plans, moodboards, and seasonal buying decks.
- Help coordinate with design and vendors to ensure product specifications, pricing, and timelines are met.
- Maintain product data, costing sheets, and seasonal line sheets for all collections.
- Support the launch of new products — ensuring catalogues, pricing, and inventory data are accurate.
Merchandising, Planning & Analytics
- Assist in preparing assortment plans and tracking inventory health across SKUs.
- Analyze weekly and monthly sales performance to identify bestsellers, slow movers, and replenishment needs.
- Support OTB (Open-to-Buy) tracking, reorders, and markdown planning.
- Maintain and update sales and stock reports to support business reviews.
- Collaborate with warehouse and operations to monitor product availability and replenishment schedules.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Support marketplace and consignment partners with product planning and inventory allocation.
- Ensure timely catalogue planning, markdowns, and in-season reactivity for all channels.
- Ensure store partners receive their orders and replenishments in time with the proper documentation.
- Ensure billing for and payments from store partners are up to date.
Performance Management
- Maintain key merchandising reports: sell-through, margin, and stock turnover.
- Track category performance to assist in planning repeats, reorders, markdowns, or exits.
- Assist in competitor benchmarking for product pricing, assortment, and packaging.
- Support implementation of new systems, planning tools, and process improvements.
- Support founder with ad hoc analysis and insights to improve assortment productivity and profitability.
Skills & Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in
fashion buying, merchandising, or category coordination
is a must. - Excellent analytical and Excel/Google Sheets skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple collections and vendors.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn the business side of fashion and jewelry.
Preferred Background
- Accessories/Apparel Buying & Merchandising experience.
- Undergraduate degree in Fashion Merchandising / Retail Management.
- Familiarity with Shopify or similar e-commerce tools preferred.
