Role Summary

Yulu is looking for a Cluster Head who is passionate about building a culture of micro-mobility using MMVs. You will be reporting to the respective City Head. We split our operations in the city into smaller areas called Clusters. The operations include intra-cluster or inter-cluster relocation of bikes, conducting cleaning, minor repairs and maintenance on the spot, major repairs and maintenance at the workshop, maintaining the safety and security, etc.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cluster Operations & Scale Execution

  • Own
    launch, stabilization, and scale-up
    of new clusters and expansion within existing clusters, ensuring rapid ramp-up without dilution of service quality.
  • Drive
    daily execution excellence
    across relocation, charging, cleaning, repairs, and uptime, while preparing the cluster to handle
    demand spikes typical of B2C mobility platforms
    .
  • Translate city-level strategy into
    cluster-specific operating plans
    , aligned to demand density, user behavior, and infrastructure constraints.

2. Workshop Management & Capability Leadership (New Depth)

  • Own
    end-to-end workshop operations
    , including capacity planning, turnaround time (TAT), spare parts availability, and quality assurance.
  • Build and scale
    standardized workshop SOPs
    , balancing speed, cost, and asset longevity.
  • Lead
    skill development of technicians and engineers
    , including:

Structured training modules

On-the-job coaching and audits

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as:

First-time-right repairs

Reduction in repeat failures

Predictive maintenance adoption

  • Ensure workshop scalability to support
    fleet growth without linear cost escalation
    .

3. On-Ground Team Leadership & Workforce Scaling

  • Directly manage large, distributed teams (bike engineers, marshals, supervisors), with a strong presence on the field.
  • Build
    middle-layer leadership
    (supervisors, leads) to ensure operational continuity during scale.
  • Conduct regular
    field audits, toolbox talks, and performance reviews
    to reinforce discipline and ownership.
  • Create a
    high-accountability culture
    with clear KPIs, incentives, and corrective action mechanisms.

4. B2C Customer Experience & Demand Alignment

  • Maintain direct feedback loops with customers to identify friction points across discovery, ride experience, and post-ride issues.
  • Partner with central and product teams to translate customer insights into
    operational improvements at scale
    .
  • Balance
    utilization maximization with asset health
    , a critical trade-off in high-frequency B2C businesses.
  • Ensure cluster readiness for promotions, partnerships, and demand surges without service degradation.

5. Data-Driven Performance Management

Own cluster-level KPIs, including:

Utilization and rides per vehicle

Revenue and contribution margin

Fleet availability and downtime

Workshop throughput and repair TAT

Customer satisfaction and complaint resolution

  • Use operational data to proactively identify bottlenecks and deploy corrective actions.
  • Coordinate closely with the central control room to maximize efficiency and responsiveness.

6. External Stakeholder & Ecosystem Management

  • Represent Yulu in the cluster with local government bodies, RWAs, corporates, and ecosystem partners.
  • Support the partnerships team in onboarding and sustaining high-value deployment locations.
  • Ensure compliance, safety standards, and brand representation on the ground.

Key Requirements

  • Hands-on experience managing workshops or asset-heavy operations
    (EVs, logistics, mobility, manufacturing, or similar).
  • Demonstrated exposure to
    scaling B2C operations
    , where demand volatility, customer experience, and unit economics are tightly linked.
  • Proven ability to
    build, train, and lead large on-ground teams
    across shifts and geographies.
  • Strong operational judgment with a
    data-driven, problem-solving mindset
    .
  • Entrepreneurial ownership mindset; comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-scaling environments.
  • High integrity, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence without authority.
