Senior Salesforce Developer – Job Description

Location: Remote (US Time Zones)

Experience: 5+ Years

Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract

Core Responsibilities

  • Solution Design & Development: Design, develop, and implement scalable Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud.
  • Technical Translation: Convert complex business requirements into robust technical designs following Salesforce best practices.
  • Custom Development: Build and optimize Apex classes, triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce pages, and Flows.
  • Integrations: Connect Salesforce with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs, Named Credentials, Middleware (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Informatica), or Platform Events.
  • Code Quality: Ensure high-quality code with unit tests (75%+ coverage), peer reviews, and compliance with coding standards.
  • DevOps & Release Management: Maintain CI/CD pipelines using Copado, DevOps Center, or GitHub Actions, and manage version control (Git/Bitbucket).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Admins, and Engineering Managers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Mentorship: Guide junior developers and perform technical code reviews.
  • Performance & Troubleshooting: Optimize system performance, manage governor limits, and resolve production issues efficiently.

Technical RequirementsCore Salesforce Development

  • Apex (Classes, Triggers, Batch Jobs, Schedulables, Future & Queueable Methods)
  • Lightning Web Components (LWC) & Aura Components
  • Salesforce Flows, Process Builder, Approval Processes
  • SOQL, SOSL, and Platform Events

Integrations

  • REST/SOAP APIs, Named Credentials, External Services
  • Middleware (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Informatica preferred)

DevOps & Tools

  • CI/CD (Copado, Salesforce DevOps Center, GitHub Actions, or equivalent)
  • Version control using Git, Bitbucket, or GitHub

Data Management

  • Data Loader, ETL tools
  • Data governance, bulk API operations, performance tuning

Testing & Quality

  • Minimum 75% code coverage with Apex tests
  • Familiarity with ApexMocks or other testing frameworks

Architecture & Security

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce data model, sharing & security model
  • Experience in large-scale enterprise implementations with complex data models

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience
  • Exposure to multiple Salesforce clouds (Sales, Service, Experience)
  • Experience in enterprise-scale projects with integrations and complex data relationships
  • Must-Have Certifications:
  • Salesforce Platform Developer II (required)
  • Salesforce Platform App Builder (preferred)

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Data Warehousing Solutions (AWS Redshift, Snowflake)
  • Knowledge of React or Angular for hybrid front-end development
