Production Head

Job Summary

We are looking for a strategic and technically strong leader to head our
Photovoltaic Cell Manufacturing
operations. The ideal candidate should have
end-to-end experience in setting up PV cell manufacturing
, including
technology finalisation,
production operations and project execution
. Lead the execution of technical projects such as new production line commissioning, capacity expansion, and technology transfers (e.g., PERC, TOPCon, HJT). Coordinate with OEMs, engineering, and R&D teams to ensure timely project completion and performance ramp-up. This is a high-impact role with full ownership of production performance, operational excellence, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Leadership – New Line Setup & Technology Transfer

Lead the execution of technical projects such as new production line commissioning, capacity expansion, and technology transfers (e.g., PERC, TOPCon, HJT). Coordinate with OEMs, engineering, and R&D teams to ensure timely project completion and performance ramp-up.

2. Production Planning and Execution

Develop and implement detailed production plans aligned with organizational goals. Coordinate with planning and supply chain teams to ensure optimal material availability and timely order fulfilment.

3. Process Optimization and Yield Improvement

Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and cell efficiency. Utilize data analytics and root cause analysis tools to identify bottlenecks and drive corrective actions to improve yield and reduce waste.

4. Setting-up Production Management

Oversee the entire cell manufacturing process from raw material input to finished product output. Ensure smooth functioning of all process stages including texturing, diffusion, PECVD, screen printing, firing, and testing, while maintaining target yield, throughput, and efficiency.

5. Team Management and Development

Build, manage, and mentor a team of engineers, supervisors, and operators. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning. Ensure adequate training programs and skill development initiatives are in place for production staff.

6. Equipment and Asset Management

Ensure effective utilization, maintenance, and performance monitoring of all production equipment. Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to minimize downtime and increase asset reliability.

7. Quality and Compliance Oversight

Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with industry and internal quality standards. Lead efforts to reduce defects, improve process control, and maintain certification standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

8. Safety and Environmental Management

Promote and enforce high standards of workplace safety, environmental compliance, and cleanroom discipline. Ensure all operations align with EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) regulations and best practices.

9. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Liaise with R&D, Quality, Maintenance, SCM, and senior management teams to ensure alignment of production goals with overall business objectives. Participate in strategic decision-making and cross-functional initiatives.

10. Reporting and KPI Tracking

Monitor and report on key performance indicators including OEE, yield, cycle time, and cost per watt. Prepare regular dashboards and production reviews for senior leadership.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or equivalent).
• 10+ years of experience in solar PV cell manufacturing
  , with
  at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  .
• Strong technical expertise in cell manufacturing processes (PERC, TOPCon, HJT, etc.).
• Experience in
  greenfield/brownfield plant setup and project execution
  .
• Proven ability to lead large teams in a multi-shift, high-throughput environment.
• Strong decision-making, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with automation, MES, and data-driven manufacturing.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with global PV manufacturing companies.
• Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 practices.
• Strong understanding of cleanroom protocols and contamination control.
