Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Steel Plant Manager to oversee and manage all operations of our steel manufacturing facility. The Plant Manager will be responsible for production planning, operations, workforce management, safety, quality assurance, cost control, and overall plant performance. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of steelmaking and rolling processes, along with strong leadership and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily plant operations, including steel melting, casting, rolling, and finishing.
  • Develop and implement production plans to achieve output, quality, and cost targets.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, environmental, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor raw material consumption (sponge iron, scrap, ferro alloys) and optimize usage.
  • Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance of equipment (induction furnaces, CCM, rolling mill, pollution control systems).
  • Drive process improvements, energy efficiency, and yield optimization.
  • Maintain quality control standards (TMT Fe500/Fe550, structural steel, billets).
  • Manage workforce scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Control operational costs and improve productivity to meet budget goals.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, and government authorities when required.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on production, costs, safety, and performance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in steel manufacturing (induction furnace / rolling mill / integrated steel plant).
  • Proven track record in managing medium to large-scale steel plant operations.
  • Strong knowledge of steel melting, billet casting, rolling processes, and quality standards.
  • Experience in managing manpower and handling statutory compliance.
  • Proficiency in production planning, cost control, and plant performance metrics.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.
