The Akanksha Foundation is a non-profit organization with the mission to build a network of high-performing and innovative schools to empower children & young adults from underserved communities and to influence the ecosystem. Akanksha currently serves 14,000 children and 5100 alumni through its 26 schools in Pune, Mumbai & Nagpur.
Position: Associate / Senior Associate, Design Function/Team: Marketing and Communications Reports to: Director, Communications.
Compensation: Based on skill sets, experience and sector standards
Location: Mumbai
Overview of the Team: The Communications team at Akanksha works with external stakeholders for events and partners with internal teams to create the overall brand and communication strategies for the organization. The team is also responsible for creating content for other teams to meet the organizations requirements.
Position Summary: As a Design Associate you will be responsible for planning and executing Akanksha's overall visual identity and the brands look and feel.
Your role will entail:
- Develop and maintain Akanksha's visual identity across all communication platforms, ensuring brand consistency and cohesion.
- Conceptualize and create visual content (digital, print, and motion graphics) for events, campaigns, social media, and internal communications.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand design needs and deliver creative solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Design collateral for external stakeholder engagement, such as event invitations, presentations, reports, and promotional materials.
- Ensure brand compliance by developing and updating visual brand guidelines, templates, and toolkits for internal use.
- Oversee creative production and vendor coordination for print and digital outputs, ensuring high- quality execution and timely delivery.
- Contribute to content strategy by offering visual storytelling ideas that enhance the impact of written communication.
- Stay updated on design trends and tools to bring fresh, innovative approaches to the organization's communication efforts
What you need for this position:
Experience:
- 3-5 years experience in designing across platforms
- Demonstrated success in building strong and sustainable relationships
- Experience in the education/development sector preferred
Knowledge/Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Thorough knowledge of design best practices
- Creativity and an ability to generate new ideas
- Strong organizing and planning skills
- Highly motivated, persevering, achievement-oriented attitude
- Tenacity in seeking results and a high level of representational and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
Education Qualification:
Graduate/Post graduate in Design
