Functional Test Engineer – API

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled
Functional Test Engineer
with strong experience in
API testing
, hands-on skills in
Eclipse IDE
, and exposure to
automation frameworks
. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating software functionality through manual and automated testing approaches, ensuring the delivery of high-quality applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute
    functional test cases
    based on business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Perform
    API testing
    using tools like
    Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI
    , or equivalent.
  • Work within
    Eclipse IDE
    to write, maintain, and debug test scripts or automation code.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA team members to identify test requirements.
  • Report and track defects using
    JIRA
    ,
    Bugzilla
    , or similar defect management tools.
  • Maintain and enhance test automation frameworks (e.g.,
    Selenium, TestNG, JUnit
    ).
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., using
    Jenkins, Git, Maven
    ).
  • Participate in
    code reviews
    ,
    test reviews
    , and provide continuous feedback to improve test coverage and quality.
  • Ensure test results and coverage meet quality standards before production releases.

Required Skills:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in
    functional testing
    .
  • Strong knowledge of
    API testing tools
    (Postman, REST Assured, etc.).
  • Experience using
    Eclipse IDE
    for testing or development purposes.
  • Exposure to
    automation testing
    using tools like Selenium, TestNG, or JUnit.
  • Basic understanding of
    Java
    or other OOP languages.
  • Familiarity with
    version control systems
    like Git.
  • Good understanding of
    SDLC
    and
    Agile methodologies
    .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with
    BDD frameworks
    (e.g., Cucumber).
  • Knowledge of
    CI/CD tools
    like Jenkins, Bamboo.
  • Exposure to
    performance testing
    (e.g., JMeter) is a plus.
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent is a plus.
