About the Role

This role will involve the Finance leader to manage the companys finances for the australia region , making sure all financial records are correct, budgets are well planned, and rules are followed. He / She will help the management to make smart financial decisions to keep the business strong and growing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting Operations

  • Oversee daily accounting functions including billing, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll for all campuses.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure proper documentation.
  • Implement internal controls and accounting systems in compliance with required accounting standards of the region and for consolidation.

2. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS and AASB is an added advantage
  • Manage month end and year end closing process and ensure timely submission, consolidation for the region.
  • Adhere to reporting guidelines from corporate office for consolidation and reporting

3. Audit & Tax Management

  • Liaise with external auditors and ensure smooth execution of financial audits.
  • Oversee tax planning, filings, and resolve issues related to taxation and audits.
  • Timely payment of taxes
  • Support transfer pricing documentation and audit recommendations

4. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Collaborate with different HODS to prepare budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor actual vs. budgeted cost and analyse areas of cost reduction.
  • Recommend efficiency improvements based on financial insights
  • Drive cost optimization , support initiatives .

5. Collaboration with Other Departments

  • Work closely with all departments to plan budgets and manage costs.
  • Provide financial data to make better decisions.
  • Build strong relationships to ensure smooth collaboration and clear communication.
  • Foster a culture of financial discipline , transparency , accountability across departments.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Masters degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or MBA (preferred).
  • CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification (preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles (education industry preferred)
  • Minimum 4 years in a leadership or managerial position.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant financial standards. AAS is an added advantage .
  • Ability to support system transition and migration .
  • Experience in statutory compliance, audits, and internal controls.
