Testing Manager

Role & responsibilities :
- Develop and manage comprehensive testing strategies for electric motors, including functional, performance, endurance, and safety tests.
- Lead and supervise the testing team, assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, and ensuring timely execution of testing activities.
- Design and implement test procedures, fixtures, and protocols for prototype and production motors.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (IEC, NEMA, UL, etc.) and customer specifications.
- Analyze test results, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings with engineering, production, and quality teams.
- To Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (CFT), ensuring seamless coordination for inspections, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 8D and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment and ensure a safe, organized, and efficient testing environment.
- Work closely with R&D and design engineering to support new product development and validation.
- Customer handling for witness test etc
- Manage documentation, including test plans, procedures, reports, and records for audits and quality control.
- Drive continuous improvement in testing processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
- Represent department in internal/external audits.
Key Skills Required :
- Proven expertise in routine, prototype testing of electric HT - LT AC motors, DC Motors, alternators, converters etc
- Strong understanding of testing standards (IEC, IEEE, NEMA, UL, etc.)
- Required Excellence in Blower Testing as per design CFM , Specification
- Expertise in handling test equipment's such as Megger, Resistance Meter, Clamp Meter, PI Tester, Vibration Meter, HV tester, Oscilioscope etc
- Should be aware about ISO audits, standards & documentation
- Exposure to ERP would be an added advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
