Job Title: Finance Controller

Location: Vashi, Navi Mumbai

Division: Finance & Accounts

Experience Required: 15-20 years (minimum 5-8 years in a leadership role)

Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced and strategic Finance Controller to lead our corporate finance and accounting functions. This role will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring statutory compliance, and delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate should possess deep accounting and taxation knowledge, a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, and proven experience in leading finance teams within a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
  • Ensure timely preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Coordinate and lead statutory audits in collaboration with external and internal auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind-AS), GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and monitor strong internal controls and risk mitigation frameworks.
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes; track and analyze variances.
  • Supervise month-end and year-end closing activities including reconciliations and necessary adjustments.
  • Deliver clear and actionable financial reports and insights for senior leadership and board-level decision-making.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to enhance accounting systems and process efficiency.
  • Work closely with the tax, treasury, and compliance teams to ensure accurate reporting and adherence to legal requirements.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
  • Strong understanding of Indian tax laws, including direct and indirect taxation.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Tally, along with advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Expertise in budgeting, cost control, and cash flow management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret and apply financial data.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in mentoring and managing finance teams.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements including FEMA, Companies Act, and governance standards.
