Direct Patient Care
1. Admission and discharges of patient
2. Maintain personal hygiene and comforts of the patient.
3. Attend to the nutritional needs of the patient, prepares invalid's diet and feeds helpless patients.
4. Maintain clean and safe environment for the patients.
5. Implement and maintain ward policies and routines.
6. Co-ordinate patient care with various health team members. Follow doctor's round carry out the orders.
7. Perform technical task eg; administration of medication, assisting doctors in various medical procedures, preparing articles and the patient for medical or Nursing procedures, recording vital signs, tube feeding, giving enema, bowel wash dressing, stomach wash, eye and ear care, collection and sending of specimens, pre-and post-operative care. Assists in administration of transfusion, perinea care, breast care, baby care, back care & prevention of bed sore etc.
8. Help doctors in diagnosis and treatment. Maintain intake and output chart.
9. Observe change in-patient's condition and records, takes necessary action and reports to the concerned authority.
10.Impart health education to the patient and his / her family.
11.Accompany critical patients sent to other departments or transferred to other institutions.
ICU/Ward Management Responsibilities
1. Hand over and takes over the patient and ward equipment and supply.
2. Keep the ward neat and tidy.
3. Maintain safety of the ward equipment.
4. Prepare and checks ward supplies.
5. Assist Ward Supervisor / sister in charge management and officiates in her/his absence. Assist in taking inventories.
6. Supervise students and other junior Nursing personnel working with her / him.
7. Maintain ward record and reports assigned to her / him by the sister in charge
8. Report to in charge.
Educational Functions and Responsibilities
1. Participate in clinical teaching, both planned and incidental. Participate in staff education programs
2. Teach and guide domestic staff. Help in the orientation of new staff.
3. Any other work assigned from time to time by the hospital management / Superiors.
REQUIREMENTS-
1.Education-BSc Nursing or GNM (Registration Mandatory).
2.Exeperience-1 to 4 Years.
3.Interpersonal and Communication Skills.
4.Excellent time management skills and organizational abilities.
5.Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
6.The ability to work independently and multitask.
