The Production Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient production of clothing items in a manufacturing setting. This role includes overseeing various stages of production, from fabric preparation to final garment assembly, ensuring quality control, meeting production targets, and maintaining safety standards throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Oversight: Manage and coordinate the daily production operations in the garment manufacturing process, ensuring the timely and efficient production of clothing items.
  • Fabric and Material Handling: Organize and manage the fabric and materials needed for production. Ensure proper inventory levels, material handling, and that the materials are prepared and ready for the production process.
  • Machine Operation: Operate, set up, and maintain sewing machines, cutting machines, and other production equipment. Ensure machines are in good working condition and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards for design, stitching, size, and overall finish. Address any defects or issues during production to maintain product quality.
  • Assembly Line Coordination: Work closely with other production staff to ensure the smooth flow of garments through various stages of production, including cutting, sewing, finishing, and packaging.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the stock of materials, threads, zippers, buttons, and other supplies to ensure a consistent flow in production.
  • Production Planning: Collaborate with supervisors and production managers to plan and schedule daily production goals, ensuring that deadlines are met while adhering to quality standards.
  • Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations. Ensure that the work area is free of hazards and that safety protocols are followed.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with other team members to meet daily production targets, help with training new employees, and provide support where needed on the production floor.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in a clothing manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of sewing techniques, garment assembly, and fabric types.
  • Ability to operate industrial sewing machines and other production equipment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Understanding of basic safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
