The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic foundation, practical industry insight, and a passion for nurturing the next generation of filmmakers and media storytellers.

Key Responsibilities:Deliver high-level lectures, hands-on workshops, and screenings across core areas of filmmaking, including Direction, Screenwriting, Cinematography, Editing, and Film Theory. Lead curriculum development, course structuring, and academic planning in alignment with global film industry practices and academic excellence. Guide students in film projects, dissertations, screenwriting, and production-based assignments.

Evaluate student performance through project reviews, critiques, viva voce, and theoretical assessments. Play a key role in academic strategy, departmental planning, and institutional quality enhancement. Mentor junior faculty members, fostering collaborative teaching and innovative pedagogy.

Represent AAFT at film festivals, academic conferences, panel discussions, and networking forums. Stay abreast of evolving cinematic techniques, technologies, and academic discourse in film studies. Eligibility Criteria:Ph.

D. in Film Studies, Cinema, or a related field OR UGC-NET qualification in a relevant domain (mandatory).8–10 years of teaching experience in film or cinema studies at a college or university level. Proven expertise in at least two of the following: Direction, Cinematography, Screenwriting, Film Theory, Post-Production, or Film Appreciation. A strong academic portfolio with published work, festival entries, or conference presentations.

Exceptional communication, leadership, and mentorship capabilities. Industry experience in film production, direction, or related domains will be an added advantage.
