Job Title: Dance Coach - Classical

Location: EuroSchool - HSR, Bangalore

Role Overview:

The Classical Dance Coach will be responsible for training students in Indian classical dance forms, nurturing their artistic talent, and instilling discipline and appreciation for Indian culture through dance. The role involves planning lessons, choreographing performances for school events, and preparing students for inter-school and external competitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach classical dance forms (e.g., Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, or Kuchipudi) to students across grades.
  • Design and implement a structured dance curriculum aligned with the school's co-curricular framework.
  • Choreograph group and solo performances for school assemblies, cultural events, and annual functions.
  • Prepare students for inter-school and external dance competitions.
  • Conduct regular practice sessions and assessments to track student progress.
  • Promote discipline, expression, and cultural values through dance education.
  • Maintain records of student participation, performance schedules, and achievements.
  • Collaborate with music, art, and theatre departments for integrated performances.
  • Ensure safety and well-being of students during rehearsals and performances.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Performing Arts / Dance or equivalent professional training.
  • Certification or formal training in a recognized classical dance form.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in teaching classical dance (preferably in a school or institution).
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Creativity, patience, and passion for working with children.
  • Ability to choreograph innovative performances blending classical and contemporary elements (preferred).

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, on-campus role
  • May require availability during school events and annual functions on weekends or evenings
