Post OCR Project Lead - US Mortgage Residential Loans - Work from Office

Job Summary:

Lead and drive the design, development, and deployment of advanced OCR, AI/ML, and GenAI solutions for the classification and extraction of residential mortgage loan data-including seasoned, NQM, and QM loans.Harness large language models and generative AI to automate complex processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in mortgage operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee end-to-end delivery of AI-powered OCR solutions for U.S. mortgage document classification and data extraction, ensuring high accuracy and automation for residential loans.
• Design and implement LLM/GenAI pipelines to automate document ingestion, classification, extraction, and validation across various loan types including seasoned, Non-QM (NQM), and QM loans.
• Collaborate with underwriting, compliance, and IT teams to integrate AI workflows into enterprise mortgage systems, ensuring seamless adoption and scalability.
• Lead data scientists, ML engineers, and business analysts through the full project lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment and scaling of production-grade AI solutions.
• Ensure stable operation of document intelligence platforms, utilizing NLP/NLU tools for unstructured data extraction and quality control.
• Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for AI models; implement continuous improvement strategies through real-world feedback, error analysis, and retraining cycles.
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications while ensuring adherence to budgets, ethical standards, and regulatory frameworks.
• Oversee AI-based risk assessment, compliance automation, and model validation processes to meet current mortgage regulatory requirements.
• Continuously research and recommend next-generation AI tools and frameworks to enhance loan data management and drive operational excellence.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in leading OCR, AI/ML, and GenAI projects in the U.S. mortgage lending domain, including deployment of LLM-based document processing systems.
• Deep hands-on expertise in Machine Learning, NLP/NLU, and Transformer-based LLMs, with practical knowledge of OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud GenAI, and similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of U.S. residential mortgage products, especially seasoned, Non-Qualified Mortgage (NQM), and Qualified Mortgage (QM) workflows.
• Expertise in AI-based classification and data extraction pipeline integration with mortgage origination, underwriting, and compliance systems.
• Solid background in project management, including team leadership, cross-functional coordination, and aligning technical AI solutions with business objectives.
• Experience in developing model validation protocols, implementing compliance checks, and adhering to data security and privacy standards in regulated environments.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to effectively drive AI/ML initiatives in a business-critical setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Project management certification such as PMP, Scrum Master, or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory).
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade OCR platforms and cloud-based AI/ML workflows (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Solid understanding of U.S. mortgage regulatory standards, including guidelines from:

• Freddie Mac
