LAYA - Centre for Emotional Wellbeing is looking for an experienced Telugu-speaking Counselling Psychologist to join our team for in-person sessions at our center.

LAYA - Centre for Emotional Wellbeing offers a comprehensive range of therapeutic services including individual therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions; child and teen therapy to foster emotional resilience; and family and couples therapy to enhance relationships. The center also provides parent support, therapeutic play for children and tailored coaching for skill development. Using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, EFT and play therapy, LAYA is committed to creating a compassionate and safe environment for emotional healing and personal growth.

Role Description

This is a requirement based on-site role located in Hyderabad for a Counseling Psychologist / Therapist. The therapist will provide individual, family, and group therapy, develop treatment plans, and perform case management to ensure comprehensive care. Daily responsibilities include assessing the emotional and mental health of clients, utilizing therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT or trauma-focused therapies, and collaborating with other professionals to provide holistic care. The role demands a genuine commitment to improving clients' well-being through compassionate support and evidence-based practices.

Skillset required

  • Expertise in Mental Health and Family Therapy to understand, assess, and address emotional and relational challenges effectively
  • Proficiency in Treatment Planning and Case Management for designing and implementing personalized care plans for a diverse clientele
  • Comprehensive experience in the field of Psychology for addressing clients' broader emotional, social, and practical needs
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills
  • Experience with evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is highly desirable

Minimum requirements

  • Master's in Psychology (Counselling/Clinical/Applied)
  • 2 years of 1:1 therapy experience
  • Fluent in Telugu (mandatory)
  • Experience with individuals, teens, and couples
  • Strong ethics, empathy, and professionalism
  • Comfortable doing in-person sessions at our Hyderabad center
