Job Title: Shift Engineer Mechanical Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Head

Qualification & Experience

  • Preferred Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience: 4 to 6 years in mechanical maintenance
  • Age Group: 24 to 32 years
  • Gender: Male / Female

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment including CNC machines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and utility systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical faults to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems in optimal working condition.
  • Oversee the upkeep of rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
  • Maintain records of maintenance work performed using SAP and prepare basic reports.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with other departments for smooth plant operations.
  • Assist in installation, commissioning, and modification of mechanical systems and machinery.

Technical / Functional Skills

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and machine tools
  • Experience in maintenance of CNC machines, utility equipment, and material handling systems
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication systems
  • Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and schematics
  • Skilled in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Familiarity with rotating equipment (pumps, motors, compressors, gearboxes)
  • Sound knowledge of safety practices in mechanical maintenance

Computer / System Skills

  • Working knowledge of SAP for maintenance management and reporting
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for documentation, maintenance logs, and reporting
