About the Project


is building a multilingual (Tamil + English) AI chatbot designed to emulate the writings, ideology, and tone of Periyar using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). This project requires building a highly accurate, authentic, and scalable AI system integrated directly into a WordPress environment.

The chatbot must answer user queries strictly based on Periyar's verified corpus, with proper source citations, age-appropriate explanations, and a consistent reformist tone.

Role Overview


We are seeking a skilled AI Developer with strong experience in RAG systems, WordPress AI plugins (AI Power), OpenAI API integrations, and vector database pipelines.

You will lead the full AI implementation lifecycle — from document preprocessing to embeddings, Pinecone indexing, retrieval, orchestration, WordPress integration, and ongoing optimization.

Key Responsibilities


WordPress + AI Power Implementation

  • Install and configure the AI Power Pack plugin in WordPress.
  • Connect OpenAI API keys and configure the AskPeriyar assistant.
  • Set up chatbot persona, tone, behavior, and knowledge base sync.

Document Preparation & Knowledge Base

  • Process PDFs and text files: clean, chunk, and tag metadata.
  • Prepare a structured document pipeline for embeddings.

Embeddings & Pinecone Indexing

  • Generate embeddings with OpenAI (text-embedding-3-large).
  • Build and maintain Pinecone vector indexes segmented by language.

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

  • Implement top-k search, reranking, and context assembly.
  • Ensure the chatbot answers strictly from authorized corpus.

Backend Integration

  • Build backend orchestration between WordPress, Pinecone, and OpenAI.
  • Ensure secure API handling, logging, and fast response times (≤3 seconds).

Evaluation, Monitoring & Scaling

  • Implement evaluation metrics (RAGAS or similar).
  • Set up continuous monitoring, improvements, and data refresh processes.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience with OpenAI APIs (Assistants, Embeddings).
  • Expertise in Pinecone or similar vector DBs.
  • Experience building RAG pipelines (LangChain, LlamaIndex, custom).
  • WordPress plugin configuration (AI Power preferred).
  • Python or backend integration.
  • Experience with multilingual retrieval (Tamil + English is a plus).
  • Knowledge of prompt engineering and system persona design.
  • Familiarity with metadata tagging and document sourcing workflows.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with age-adaptive AI response systems.
  • Prior work on historical or research-based chatbots.
  • Tamil language understanding.
  • UI/UX customization in WordPress.
